Task 1
INITIAL PLANNING IDEAS
Task 2
This mood board has ideas from our initial planning also it reinforces the indie rock music video conventions. The mood board is essential as it gives us a visual understanding of what we would like our music video to look like.
Task 3
The custom plan is very important as the audience will see the characters and based there assumptions on the clothing. as the audience will get the wrong impression if the characters are wearing suits or joggers. The reason custom is so important is because it makes it easier for the audience to recognize the music video as an indie rock video.
Task 4
Task 5
Task 6
Task 7
For this task one of our team members wrote a contract letter for copyright reasons. Writing this letter came with some barriers as the artist that this letter was for didn't have any information on them this was down to the fact that we chose an independent artist that shares his music on SoundCloud. So our team member wrote a letter to the company that the artists shares his music on (SoundCloud).
Task 8
This task allows us to keep up to date with or filming and other essential pieces of work also, help us hand in work before the deadline. This proved to be very useful last year so using it this year will help.
Task 9
The storyboard is important as it clears up our ideas for the final screening also, the reason we chose post-it notes is due to the fact that it was easier to rearrange the different scenes until we were happy with the narrative of the music video.
Task 10
Using this Task we are able to properly analyze each of the lyrics and get a deeper understanding of them and this will help us match our actions on the screen with the lyrics just like Andrews Goodwin's theory suggests. Also using theories will make our music video look more professional and have an effect on the audience when watched.
Task 11
This presentation has plenty of editing methods to create our creative and professional look for our music video also after looking and studying these methods it will help us become more skilful editors.
Task 12
The shot list has proven to very important as now we have a better understanding of what we have to do when it comes to filming also it will give us instructions on what to exactly do and feature in our music video. Also, as it gives us a direction on what to shoot we won't have to film any extra footage that can waste time when the time could be spent doing something useful like updating our blogs or editing.
Task 13
Everything that we've done on our digipack has reflected back on what we will include in our music video for example, on the front cover of our digipack we have an image of our lead actor we have made the character resemble the actual person that we'll use in the music video. Also, we have the band performing with their instruments (back cover)highlighting some indie rock convections (instruments), the back of the digipack is the image of the lead actor looking over the horizon of the beach this will be a scene from our actual music video. Finally the last 3 inside covers of the digipack are of the living room, cd, cover and the car park, the living room shows that the band are down to earth people that live like the rest of us also this links with the CD cover as it's simple meaning that the band are ordinary and don't see themselves to be higher than other person and this reinforces the indie genre conventions. And finally, the last image is the rooftop as this is a very important part of our music video and narrative as this is where the music video starts and where it ends with the death.
Task 14
Each person in my group made their own posters for the indie band. I've gone for a different approach as I could have just gone with an image of the band and have the title above them, however, I have gone for the more creative look as indie artists are seen as creative and open-minded people and this reinforces the indie rock conventions. The moon and sun resemble the good and evil associated with indie rock bands as some indie rock bands focus more on the dark side of life like drugs and eath however you get the other bands that love talking the glory life and there more joyful to watch and what I'm trying to symbolise is that our band have a good balance of these two.
Task 15
The health and safety assessment will allow us to be aware of the health risks and this will keep us safe, for example, the beach has slippy rocks that can prove dangerous for us when filming. This Task help me greatly last year as it made me aware of things to look out for that can be dangers and this year I'm sure it will be as handy as the year before.
Task 16
Audience feedback
I conducted a survey as my main way of revising feed back from the audience using Survey Monkey.
I asked the the audience what they would expect to see in a Brit pop music video. From the results I revised I can see that the audience want to see a fun video that makes them enjoy it, this perfect for me as this follows the convention of a Brit pop music video.
Other audiences members believed that a good location would be a thing that they would expect in a Brit pop music video and this true as the location can add to the effect of the comedic aspects of the music video.
And finally the last highly chosen answer was that they expect to see a clear narrative however having a clear narrative isn't a massive deal in the Brit pop genre as most times they want the audience to have a good time watching and have a laugh so this expectation will be one to consider compare with the other ones.
The majority of the audiences members that took my survey were between the age of 16-19 years of age and this was interesting as I expected it to between 20-23 to listen to Brit pop music, but judging from my results I can see that this isn't the case and must adapt our music video to interest 16-19 age range.
Task 17
For Task 17 we had to pitch our idea for our music video. This task was important as it allowed us to present our thoughts to a live audience this was important because the audience can give us feedback on what we have come up with and the vital feedback will help us develop and improve our ideas for the music video.
MOVING GROUPS
due TO PERSONAL REASONS i will be changing groups, the group that i intend on moving to have a different genre compared with my current group as they are doing a britpop genre. All though this move seems unwise as iv'e been so involved with the planing stage, i will be able to still use the knowledge iv'e gained from being in this group and apply it to my new team personally this is the best option for me in my case.
